The ongoing credit crunch may be bad for more than just your wallet, according to a recent report.
This week, AFP spoke with Dr. Richard Petty, director of a London men's health clinic, who warned that stress brought on by the recession and credit crunch could lead to reduced testosterone levels in men.
"In the short-term, stress can increase levels of testosterone and this is useful to help people respond quickly to pressures and new situations. But chronic stress, which is ongoing, is a major factor in the decline of testosterone," Dr. Petty told the French news agency.
The doctor went on to warn that lower testosterone can cause lack of concentration, irritability and a lower sex drive.
If your own personal financial situation is getting you down, there's no need to wait until it becomes a chronic problem. Carefully watching your budget and keeping up with all of your monthly payments are a good way to get back on track financially. For some, payday loans are also a good way to manage money and avoid late fees and other credit problems.
