Recent poll results find that most Americans say their personal finances are getting worse, and that few of them expect things to change soon even with the economic stimulus bill becoming law this week.

According to a new survey by Rasmussen reports, a mere nine percent say the economy is getting better, compared to 70 percent who say it's getting worse. This compares to 16 percent in September who believed the economy was getting better.

Rasmussen also maintains a daily consumer index that has now fallen to a record low three times during the month of February, having fallen from about 87 in September at the start of the financial crisis to its present 55.7.

A separate Rasmussen poll released this week found that Americans aren't much more optimistic about the economy even as the economic stimulus bill awaits the president's signature on Tuesday.

The poll found that 38 percent expect the stimulus to help the economy while 29 percent believe it will harm the economy and 24 percent say it will have little impact.
If you're pessimistic about your own financial situation, remember that payday loans can be a good way to stay on top of your payments and other expenses.
